Today I met with Kajal Nisha Patel, who runs Lightseekers, which aims to equipping each of us with tools and knowledge to better manage periods of stress. The aim is to cultivate healthier communities, which are centred around the concept of care. Kajal told me about how she has developed the idea of Lightseekers, and why she believes that a mindful and caring approach to individual and community wellbeing is important.
Starting 14th May and running through to 13th June, Lightseeker’s is running a programme of free online courses with the theme ‘Ways to Wellbeing’. The programme – free and funded by Near Neighbours – brings together a range of practitioners interested in supporting individual and community health & wellbeing. During the sessions, attendees will learn techniques, acquire knowledge and information to support their journey towards physical, social, mental, environmental and spiritual health. Personal wellbeing sessions in May include yoga, improving emotional health, pranayama (breathing techniques), gut health, reflexology. June workshops are community focused, with sessions on community repair and reuse, connecting with nature and ways to better manage time and energy.
We sat and chatted outside Leicester Coffee House, and watched the people and traffic go past.
