I want to use the Distraction Therapy podcast to explore what metamodernism means, and how our culture is shifting towards something that goes beyond postmodernity. We’ve established that we live in a world of signs and media, but we’ve not taken full account of how meaning is found in the depths of our shared consciousness. I certainly don’t know the answers, and I have only a limited ability to express what I’m sensing in words, so we’ve got to turn to art and creative practice to figure out what direction we are heading in and where we might find ourselves in years to come.

I chatted with Traci Howard about what it means to be an artist in Leicester, and the importance of using art to inspire people to feel connections. Find out more at West End Studio Trail on Instagram. This is a group of artists from the West End in Leicester who are opening up their studios and creative spaces to the public, to share their art and ideas. Taking place on Saturday the 20th November from 12pm to 5pm.
